‘Sigurd and the real girl’ is a short story set in a post-collapse coastal community somewhere in southern Jutland. Sigurd is an introverted loner, a square peg, an uncomfortable fit inside a competitive dominance hierarchy he just can’t see the point of. One or two others, though, recognise qualities in Sigurd that most cannot see. One is Dianna. When she visits Sigurd, he takes her on an adventure that could change their lives forever - if they survive it.
